Hanotiau Tossens Goldman (HTGO) has officially opened its doors in Brussels on 1 September. The firm brings together a prominent team of international dispute resolution specialists offering counsel, arbitrator, and legal expert services in complex cross-border disputes.
HTGO is founded by five partners: Bernard Hanotiau, Jean-François Tossens, Sophie Goldman, René Gonne and Iuliana Iancu. The new partnership is supported by a team of counsel, Iris Raynaud and Juan Camilo Jiménez Valencia, and associates, all of whom were previously part of Hanotiau & van den Berg (HVDB) and Tossens Goldman Gonne. Together, the team offers a global approach to complex international disputes, combining arbitration and litigation with preventive advisory and transactional services, particularly in corporate and M&A matters.
Commenting on the launch of the new firm, Bernard Hanotiau said:
“HVDB has been an extraordinary endeavour, and I remain deeply proud of what we accomplished together. This new chapter builds on that legacy while opening the door to something broader. With HTGO, we are creating a platform that not only maintains our work as arbitrators, but also integrates counsel and expert services, responding to a growing demand from clients for a more comprehensive approach to dispute resolution. International law remains as demanding and dynamic as ever, and I embrace this new direction with renewed energy, as part of a collective project rooted in shared excellence and strategic evolution.”
Jean-François Tossens and Sophie Goldman added:
“HTGO sets out to become the new international arbitration powerhouse in Brussels. This venture brings together the complementary strengths of teams that have long shared the same ambition: to practice international dispute resolution at the highest level, while significantly expanding our ability to act as counsel in complex arbitrations. We are proud to carry forward the work initiated alongside René Gonne, and to join forces with Bernard Hanotiau and his team around a shared vision for HTGO.”
